Fusion Media Group CEO Felipe Holguin announced to staff that the FUSION cable network will see its footprint expanded in 2018, specifically in major markets such as New York City and Los Angeles.

The announcement comes as an agreement has been reached with Charter Communications to expand the distribution of FUSION to all Spectrum customers, including the households it acquired from Time Warner Cable and Bright House.

Subject: Increased Distribution for FUSION

Team,

I am pleased to share an exciting update about the reach and distribution of our cable network. In early 2018, FUSION will become available to all Spectrum customers—now including the households that previously received their cable service from Time Warner Cable or Bright House.

This is significant as FUSION will achieve a much stronger footprint in major markets such as New York City, Los Angeles, Houston, Dallas, and Austin among others. In addition to reaching more households in these key urban areas from a viewership perspective, it is also an important step in continuing to grow advertising revenues for the network. I want to thank the UCI Distribution team for all their hard work on achieving this milestone and for their continued support of FMG and FUSION.

2018 will be an exciting year for the network as they continue to grow and evolve. At its core FUSION is a network that speaks to the interests and issues of America’s diverse, outspoken youth through programming that shares their curiosity, sharpness, and passion. We have seen this in recent shows like “Shade,” which revealed a side of drag culture never before seen, as well as series and specials produced in collaboration with editorial teams across FMG like “Car vs America,” powered by Jalopnik, and “The Root 100.”

Stay tuned for more information on the exact timing for FUSION to launch in those additional households. Danny will also have more updates to share on upcoming programming and other key initiatives in the new year.

Best,

Felipe
